Stats, Stats, Stats (Yes, I'm a Stat Whore)

Here is my monthly summary of stats on the past 11 or so months... (Click on it to make it larger)

Here's a summary of a few weeks in May and June last year:

And here is a snap shot from the past 4 weeks:

Notice the realative lack of change between my visits between May and now. I had 5,700 visits in May and then 6,100 visits in Febrary (a shorter month mind you). January spiked when I got reviewed on Jane's Guide, but it doesn't seem like it's sticking.

Now my returning visits has increased over the months, which makes me happy.

I guess what my point is, I'll ask the more veteran and sucessful bloggers out there (sex bloggers more specifically) how did you get your stats to improve? I'm somewhat happy with my numbers, but I'd just like to see them improve at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Don't forget those like me, who only read your blog through RSS :)

Yes, that is true. And I did recently give in and allow full feeds. But I luckily haven't seen much of a dip since doing that.

But you should come visit anyways! Cause then you can see the craziness that is my template so often these days, lol.

Avah,

A couple of things come to mind... comment often and profusely on other blogs... especially blogs with large readerships.

Also, link to other blogs and/or bloggers in your posts... mention that you read a good post somewhere and follow up with a link there.

If you are only blogging for yourself, it's one thing, but if you're trying to attract readers and keep or build your regular readership, you've got to go out and find them.

Add labels and/or tags to your posts... use frequently sought after search words or phrases in your posts... add pictures to your posts... do memes... tag others to play, etc.

And above all else, don't get TOO hyperfocused on stats... they are just humbers. It's your real regular readers and friends you make online that matter most, and above all, how YOU feel about what you're writing and how you're doing.

Hugs,
Tiggs

I know what you mean about the commenter. I admit, I'm not really big on it. I do just tend to read and move on. One reason I stopped being bummed about not getting a lot of comments.

But yes, it's returning readers I'm most interested in having.

I'm a returning reader. I like interesting posts about smut, university life, and your mental state. Frequent updating is good, too.

Personally here's what keeps me coming back to a site - good topics, good participation between the readers and between the readers and the site owner, and to a lesser extent site design.

I don't think that you started this blog in order to get X amount of people to visit and keep visiting. You should post what you want, when you want, and not worry about stats IMHO.
